Why Contribute to our Outdoor Classroom Campaign?
During these challenging times, we are engaging in more school outdoors than ever before to support our students and staff here at Cornerstone. We are finding in order to further support our students with successful days outdoors we could really use your additional help!
When you donate to our Outdoor Classroom Campaign you are providing our students with the ability to value outdoor play and experience a classroom setting outside in the fresh air. No environment surpasses the great outdoors for learning and active play. Learning and playing outdoors also strengthens the familiarity and cultivates an appreciation of nature. It promotes a sense of imagination and creativity along with developing an interest in science and math through connecting with nature. Language develops and communication skills deepen through projects, individual, and group activity. Furthermore, engaging in activities outdoors during these uncertain times provides us with the safest school environment possible for all.
Money received will go to outdoor furniture such as tables, chairs, etc. that can remain outdoors all year regardless of weather conditions. Cabinets for storage, portable trollies, more sensory tables and outdoor coverings such as umbrellas, canopies etc. If donations received are beyond what we hoped for, we will use other monies for landscaping enhancements in order to gain more usable space for our outdoor classrooms.
